Highlights this week:

A successful second week of school!

🌈 August Rainbow Spirit Days were a hit! We loved seeing our colorful Vikings! Don’t forget to tag us in your social media pics so we can share! @ausdvalleyview

🎒 Our 4th & 5th graders kicked off the School-Wide Expectations tour with our Assistant Principal, Counselor, and Campus Supervisors. 2nd & 3rd graders are up next on Tuesday, followed by TK-1st graders the following week.

👶 Our TK and Kinder students are adjusting well! We adore them! Thank you, parents, for quick goodbyes and for not lingering at the kinder gate. Drop-offs will get easier as we stay consistent. 💕

Here's what you need to know:

✅ Register to be a member by September 8th to help classrooms earn points

🍦 The top class in both lower and upper grades win ice cream parties

👩‍🏫 Staff members will join too and earn points for the Staff Group!

🏠Anyone in your household can be a member, even the students! More members = more points for their class.

$10 for One Membership or $15 for Two!

Help Needed! - New Reading Program

📚 Exciting News for Book Enthusiasts and Community Heroes! 📢

We're launching a new reading program, and we need YOUR help to get it off the ground! 🚀

Here's how you can make a difference:

✅ Label books in our library

✅ Comfortable, air-conditioned environment

✅ Every Tuesday (for the next couple of weeks)

✅ 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM (come when you can, stay as long as you can)

This is a perfect opportunity to support literacy, meet fellow Viking families, and contribute to our school community. No experience necessary - just bring your enthusiasm!

📸 Wednesday, August 21st is PICTURE DAY! Skip the daily color and dress in your finest for Fall Picture Day!

💻You may order photos using the form that will be sent home, or online at www.shopstudio1.com. and our school code is V629. All photo-related questions can be answered by calling or texting Studio 1 at: (413) 287-1234.

Your child's "Every Absence Matters" form isn't just paper – it's a tool for success! 🔑 Here's how to make the most of this tool that was sent home:

1️⃣ Place it in a visible spot at home (such as your refrigerator)

2️⃣ Note down any absences from school

3️⃣ Discuss the importance of daily attendance with your child

📚✈️ Balance is key! Our school schedule is out, giving you the perfect chance to plan amazing family adventures during breaks.

By aligning your trips with school holidays, you're showing your kids that both education and family time are top priorities.

Tuesdays Are Minimum Days

Every Tuesday follows our minimum day schedule. Please note the early dismissal times:

🎒 TK & Kindergarten: 12:45pm

📚 1st-5th Grade: 1:00pm

Make sure to plan your pick-up arrangements accordingly. Have you set a weekly reminder on your phone? Let's work together to ensure a smooth dismissal process! 😊
